Cubaris sp. "Daxin Tricolor"

The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Cubaris sp. "Daxin Tricolor" is a very striking and rare Cubaris form, characterized by its contrasting tricoloration (usually a dark base color with light and reddish/orange accents). Its compact, heavily armored body and typical Cubaris behavior make this species a sought-after animal in the hobby.

These animals are from our own breeding. These isopods originally come from China. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size stages to ensure an optimal start for a successful breeding colony.

The isopods feed on various forest materials such as rotten wood and leaf litter. In addition, supplementary feed such as calcium (e.g., limestone or cuttlefish bone) and protein should be offered as part of a balanced diet. Various vegetables are also readily accepted. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leeks, onions) should be avoided, as should iceberg lettuce.

A well-ventilated terrarium with moist and somewhat drier areas (humidity gradient) supports stable keeping and good reproduction. Waterlogging should be avoided at all costs.
