Cubaris sp "White Shark"

The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Cubaris sp. "White Shark" is a very striking and sought-after color morph of a Cubaris species, characterized by its light to whitish base color with sometimes darker accents. Due to its high-contrast appearance and compact, heavily armored body, this morph is one of the popular "premium" Cubaris in the hobby.

These animals are from our own breeding. Originally, these isopods come from Southeast Asia. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size stages to ensure an optimal start for a successful breeding colony.

The isopods feed on various forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additionally, supplementary feeds such as calcium (e.g., limestone or cuttlefish bone) and proteins should be offered as part of a balanced diet. Various vegetables are also readily accepted. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leeks, onions) should be avoided, as should iceberg lettuce.

A moist but well-ventilated terrarium with clear dry and wet areas (humidity gradient) supports stable keeping and very good reproduction. Waterlogging should be avoided.
