Nesodillo arcangelii "Shiro Utsuri"

The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Nesodillo arcangelii "Shiro Utsuri" is an exceptional and very decorative color morph of Nesodillo arcangelii, characterized by its contrasting black and white pattern (similar to the "Shiro Utsuri" Koi pattern). Characteristic features include a compact, well-armored body and the ability to roll up completely (similar to other pill bugs). Due to its striking pattern, this morph is among the more sought-after exotics in the hobby.

These animals are from our own breeding stock. Originally, these isopods come from Taiwan. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size stages to ensure an optimal start for a successful breeding colony.

The isopods feed on various forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additionally, supplemental foods such as calcium (e.g., limestone or cuttlebone) and protein should be offered as part of a balanced diet. Various vegetables are also readily accepted. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leeks, onions) should be avoided, as should iceberg lettuce.

A well-ventilated terrarium with moist and slightly drier areas (humidity gradient) supports stable keeping and good reproduction. Waterlogging should definitely be avoided.
