The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Armadillidium ameglioi is a rarely kept and attractive species of pill bug, characterized by its heavily armored body and fine surface structure. Due to its Mediterranean origin and natural appearance, this species is considered an interesting specialty in the hobby.

These animals are from our own breeding. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size stages to ensure an optimal start for a successful breeding colony.

Isopods feed on various forest materials such as rotten wood and leaf litter. In addition, supplementary feeds such as calcium (e.g., limestone or cuttlebone) and proteins should be offered as part of a balanced diet. Various vegetables are also readily accepted. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leeks, onions) should be avoided, as should iceberg lettuce.

A well-ventilated terrarium with humid and drier areas supports successful keeping and breeding. Waterlogging should be avoided. Calcareous areas and good air circulation are particularly important.
