The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Armadillidium gestroi "Borgio Verezzi" is a particularly attractive local form of Armadillidium gestroi, characterized by its high-contrast black and yellow markings and heavily armored body. These animals originally come from the Borgio Verezzi region in Italy and are among the most popular roly-poly isopods in the hobby due to their intense coloration and active behavior.

These animals are from our own breeding stock. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size groups to ensure an optimal start for a successful breeding colony.

The isopods feed on various forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. In addition, supplementary feeds such as calcium (e.g., limestone or cuttlebone) and proteins should be offered as part of a balanced diet. Various vegetables are also readily accepted. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leeks, onions) should be avoided, as should iceberg lettuce.

A well-ventilated terrarium with both humid and drier areas supports successful keeping and breeding. Waterlogging should be avoided.
