The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Armadillidium scaberrimum is an exceptional and very attractive species of pill millipede (woodlice), characterized by its heavily structured body surface and variable coloration. Particularly characteristic is its robust, roughly armored body, which gives this species a primordial appearance.

These animals are from our own breeding stock. These isopods originally come from Croatia. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size groups to ensure an optimal start for a successful breeding colony.

The isopods feed on various forest materials such as rotten wood and leaf litter. In addition, supplementary feeds such as calcium (e.g., limestone or cuttlebone) and protein should be offered as part of a balanced diet. They also enjoy various vegetables. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leek, onions) should be avoided, as should iceberg lettuce.

A well-ventilated terrarium with both humid and drier areas supports successful keeping and breeding. Waterlogging should be avoided.
