The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Cristarmadillidium muricatum is an exceptional and sought-after species of pill isopods (woodlice) characterized by their heavily textured, roughly armored surface and distinctive body segments. Due to their ancient appearance and striking armor, this species is one of the most interesting isopods in the hobby.

These animals are from our own breeding. Originally, these isopods come from Spain. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size stages to ensure an optimal start for a successful breeding colony.

The isopods feed on various forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additionally, supplementary feeds such as calcium (e.g., limestone or cuttlebone) and proteins should be offered as part of a balanced diet. Various vegetables are also readily accepted. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leek, onions) should be avoided, as well as iceberg lettuce.

A well-ventilated terrarium with both humid and dry areas supports successful keeping and breeding. Waterlogging should be avoided.
