The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Cubaris sp. "Orange Freezy" is a striking color morph of a Cubaris species, highly sought after in the hobby, characterized by its intense orange to slightly whitish-brightened coloration. The compact, heavily armored body and the typical calm behavior of Cubaris make this morph an attractive special variant for enthusiasts.
These animals are from our own breeding. Originally, these isopods come from Southeast Asia. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size stages to ensure an optimal start for a successful breeding colony.
The isopods feed on various forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additionally, supplementary foods such as calcium (e.g., cuttlebone or limestone) and proteins should be offered as part of a balanced diet. They also readily accept various vegetables. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leeks, onions) should be avoided, as well as iceberg lettuce.
A consistently moist but well-ventilated terrarium with clearly separated moist and slightly drier areas (humidity gradient) is crucial for successful keeping and breeding. Waterlogging should be strictly avoided.
