The isopods are sold in groups of 10. Porcellio laevis "Dairy Cow", also known in Germany as Porcellio laevis "Panda", is one of the most well-known and popular color morphs of Porcellio laevis. It is characterized by its striking black and white marbling, reminiscent of a cow's pattern. The species is very active, robust, and prolific, and is considered a classic beginner isopod in the hobby.
These animals are from our own breeding stock. These isopods originally come from the Mediterranean region. When purchased, the isopods are shipped in mixed age and size stages to ensure an optimal start for a stable and fast-growing breeding colony.
The isopods feed on various forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additionally, supplementary feeds such as calcium (e.g., cuttlebone or limestone) and protein should be offered as part of a balanced diet. Various vegetables are also readily accepted. Vegetables from the onion family (garlic, leeks, onions) should be avoided, as should iceberg lettuce.
A well-ventilated terrarium with structured moist and drier areas (humidity gradient) supports stable keeping and strong reproduction. Waterlogging should be avoided.
